- Ian Miller joined Darlington on loan in February 2007 - a move which would later become permanent. Miller started his career with Bury Town in the Isthmian League Division One North division. He did enough to impress Ipswich Town in September 2006. He never got many opportunities at Ipswich. He joined Boston United on loan in November 2006. This loan spell was extended until January 2007. He then moved to Darlington in February 2007 on loan. Miller was recalled however in late March to cover for injuries in the Ipswich squad and made his only appearance for the club. Miller agreed a new one-year contract with Ipswich in June 2007 and then rejoined Darlington on an initial month's loan. This was extended to January 2008. Once this loan deal was completed Darlington made the move a permanent one. During the 2007/08 season he came on as a substitute in the play-off semi-final first leg agaisnt Rochdale. With the game all square at 1-1 Miller headed in a 92nd minute winner. After Darlington's players were asked to take a pay cut in November 2011, and Miller did not receive his wages for that month, he handed in his notice and left the club in December 2011.
