- Biography
- Stockdale began his youth career at Middlesbrough and went on to make over 70 Premier League appearances for them. During his time at Boro he had loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday and West Ham United. In 2004, Stockdale moved to Rotherham United after a successful loan spell. He became an integral part of their defence, but the club and manager Ronnie Moore could not keep hold of Stockdale and several months later, midway through the 2004/05 season he left Rotherham to move Hull City and finished the season there. He struggled to get into the Hull squad during the 2005/06 season and in February joined Darlington on in a short loan move which lasted three games.
