- Played for Darlington during the 2000/01 season. Williams started his career at Cradley Town in 1990. After impressing in non-league he gained a move to Swansea City. He then moved on to Coventry City where he spent three years. During this time he played on loans at Notts County, Stoke City and went back to Swansea. He departed the Sky Blues in 1995 and went on to play for Wycombe, Hereford, Walsall, Exeter City, Cardiff City, York City and then Darlington. Was often called the Flying Postman due to his career before professional football and because at the 1992 Football League Cup final he claimed the £10,000 first prize when he won the Rumbelows Sprint Contest in a time of 11.49 seconds.
