- Made his first appearance for Darlington in January during the 1996/97 season on loan from Blackburn Rovers. Joined Darlington on a free transfer the following month and became a regular in the squad. Fell out of favour in the first part of the 1998/99 season and joined Northampton Town on loan in December 1998 - a move which quickly became a permanent one.
