- Tom Portas joined Darlington in the summer of 2014 from Whitby Town, as Martin Gray looked to strengthen his central midfield area. Played virtually every game in the 2014/15 season as the side won promotion. Was one of the most consistent players of the season and became a favorite of supporters.
