- Played for Darlington on loan during the 1999/00 season. Made his debut for Middlesbrough during the 1997/98 campaign. Went on to make make five appearances that season as Born won promotion to the Premier League. Struggled to make an impact the following season due to injury. Was sent on loan during the 1999/00 season - first to Huddersfield and then to Darlington towards the end of the campaign.
