- Biography
- Richard Offiong had two loan spells with Darlington. One during the 2002/03 season and the other during the 2010/11 season. Started his career with Newcastle as a youth prospect but failed to make an appearance. During his time with Newcastle he was loaned to Darlington and scored four goals. After leaving Newcastle Offiong had spells in Turkey, South Korea and Belgium. Offiong returned to the UK and signed for Doncaster Rovers on a free transfer in 2005. His appearances for Rovers were limited however and he eventually joined Hamilton Academical in Scotland. He departed the club at the end of the 2009/10 season and then joined Carlisle United. He featured only a handful of times for Carlisle and the day before the 2010/11 season started he joined Darlington on loan in the Conference. The loan deal didn't last long however due to injury.
