Biography
Popular defender who joined Darlington from Durham City ahead of the 2012/13 season and skippered the club to two promotions in three seasons. Missed the majority of the 2013/14 season with a serious ankle injury during pre-season but returned towards the end of the campaign and played a significant part the following season as Quakers secured promotion from the Evo Stik First North via the play-offs. With his partner giving birth to their second child Brown made the difficult decision to depart the club on the eve of the 2015/16 season. He moved to Shildon but Gary returned to the club in November after admitted he had made a rash decision.
