- Spent a brief loan spell with Darlington during the 2002/03 season. Started his career at Aston Villa and played for West Brom on loan. Departed Villa for Blackburn Rovers in a £1.5 million deal in 1995. With the likes of Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton ahead of him at Blackburn Fenton made less than 30 appearances. Spells at Leicester City, Stoke, St Mirren and Blackpool all followed between 1997 and 2003. It was during his time at Blackpool that Fenton was sent on loan to Darlington.
