Biography
Staindrop born Harvey Saunders spent four seasons with Darlington before signing for Fleetwood Town in January 2019. His new club, however, let the forward finish the remainder of the 2018/19 season with Quakers before moving permanently during the summer. Harvey joined Darlington during the 2015/16 season from Durham City. His only start that season for Quakers was in a Doodson Sport Cup tie. During the first half of the 2016/17 season he spent time on loan in the Northern League at Dunston UTS and Ryhope CW. He eventually made his first league appearance for Quakers later that season at home to Nuneaton Town. His first goal followed a couple of months later as he came off the bench and scored a header against Worcester City. Most of Saunders early appearances came from the bench. He finally made his first league start during the 2017/18 season against Stockport. The arrival of Tommy Wright as manager in October 2017 yielded more starts for the forward. He showed enough improvement to bag several goals for Quakers and impressed to earn a move to Fleetwood and the Football League.
