- Biography
- Former Gateshead striker who signed in the summer of 2014 from Whitby Town. Armstrong came with a track record of scoring goals having helped Gateshead to win promotion twice, and he didn’t disappoint for Quakers, scoring 24 league goals in his first season. In just his second competitive appearance for Quakers, he scored both goals in the 2-0 away win at to local rivals Spennymoor Town. He scored more goals for the Quakers than any other player in the 2014/15 season as the team secured promotion, including the opening goals in the semi-final and final of the play-offs. His semi final goal in the play off was memorable, a towering header from a right wing cross, and he scored in the final against Bamber Bridge with another header. However, later in the dying seconds of the play off final he sustained an abdominal injury, and he missed the celebrations that followed.
