Biography
Swiss forward who joined Darlington ahead of the 2006/07 season. Counted Young Boys, Basel and Nantes amongst his former clubs. Had a spell at Norwich City where he proved a popular figure. He initially signed a three month deal with Norwich in March 2000 and then made his move from Nantes in France permanent in July. However, he suffered an horrendous cruciate injury against Sheffield United in October, 2000 and missed the rest of the season and all of the following year and finally, in May 2002, having watched as City lost the First Division play-off final to Birmingham, his contract was not renewed. Giallanza returned to Switzerland and has played for Young Boys and FC Aarau. He returned to England though in time for the 2006/07 season as he was signed for Darlington by manager David Hodgson. When Hodgson was replaced during the 2006/07 season by Dave Penney changes became limited for the forward.
