- Former Preston, Huddersfield Town and Swansea City forward who arrived at Darlington ahead of the 2007/08 season with Darlington reportedly paying £100,000 to secure his signature. Abbott had represented Poland Under-21s arrived with a good track record of finding the net. During a three year spell at Huddersfield he 51 goals in 126 games. Became a popular figure at Darlington. Despite having injury problems during his time at the club he still managed to score 17 goals in 42 appearances for the Quakers. Departed the club in June 2009 for Oldham Athletic.
