Biography

Born in Carlisle, Cumbria, Bowman started his career with hometown club Carlisle United. He scored 22 goals in his second season at youth level to make him the top scorer for the under-18 team. Bowman joined Conference North club Workington on a one-month loan in February 2010. Was recalled to Carlisle after only a few games for Workington. In April 2010 he made his debut for the Cumbria outfit in a 3-1 win over Bristol Rovers. Had another loan spell at Workington but was eventually in May 2011 from Carlisle. He impressed in a trial at Darlington and joined the club ahead of the troubled 2011/12 season. Finished as the club's top scorer as the club was relegated from the conference. With the suffering severe financial problems Bowman's contract was cancelled at the end of the season and he moved on to pastures new.
