Biography
Middlesbrough born goalkeeper who joined Darlington in 2004. He was signed by David Hodgson in August ahead of the 2004/05 season after being released by Boro. Prior to his Darlington arrival he had spells on loan at Gateshead and Scunthorpe United. Russell stayed with Darlington 2007 when he left after failing to agree a new contract with then manager Dave Penney. He joined Rochdale in 2007. At the end of the 2008/09 season he was released by Rochdale and had a spell with Wrexham. In May 2010 he rejoined Darlington and was part of the side which went on to win the FA Trophy at Wembley. He eventually left Darlington in January 2012 after the club hit financial difficulties.
